INHUMANE SEAL DEATHS
Dolphin Care Uk is totally against the way these young harp seals are killed each and every year.
It is a disgrace and in-humane how these young seals are killed the way they are..
The world watches in horror as Canadian sealers brandish clubs and rifles, brutally slaughtering thousands of defenseless pups, most only a few weeks old.
Dolphin Care UK has joined forces with Humane Society International, to help put pressure on the UK Government and the European Parliament to help bring and end to these deaths.
Could You swing a club with a spike in the end and bring it down on a few weeks old seal pup, like the man in the picture above?
Would you want to kill a seal pup in the first place?
Sometimes the first strike is not enough, and the clubber will carry on hit after hit till the poor defenceless pup is dead.
Why are they doing this? Read on and shock yourself.
Seal pelts are used in the European fashion markets, to make coats, handbags, purses and many other products.
One of the best ways to end this slaughter is for the European Union to ban its trade in seal products effectively removing the financial incentive for the fishermen to conduct these hunts.
"Europeans overwhelmingly want a ban on all seal product trade in the EU," said Mark Glover, director of Humane Society International-UK. "Only a comprehensive ban on seal product trade in the EU can stop the suffering of these poor defenceless creatures.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO STOP THESE HORRIBLE DEATHS
Dolphin Care UK want the UK Government to stand firm and call on the Canadian Government to bring a halt to these barbaric slaughters that take place every year.
We would ask you to join us and the Humane Society International with a boycott of Canadian furs and seafood goods.
Is a seal pup killed, the way they are? worth the fur on your back?
Over the past four years, Canada's beautiful harp seal nursery has been transformed into a scene of bloody carnage. The Canadian government has allowed more than one million seals—almost all of them babies as young as 12 days old—to be killed for their fur. The kill quota for 2008 is 275,000—5,000 more than last year.
This Has to Stop and we need your help
Please take action today to let the EU know you support this ban! Humane Society International is actively lobbying the EU.
